Finding our Parisian Stride

There was a Putney program reunion at the Maison Internationale de la Jeunesse (MIJE) this week.  We were welcomed to the city by a win from Les Bleus in the quarterfinal match of the world cup.  We’ve had a busy week but found our Parisian stride.

We visited the ever-amazing Louvre, and it turns out that the Mona Lisa is smaller than you’d expect.  The Louvre is so full of amazing works that if you were to stop for just 30 seconds at every piece it would take about a year to visit the whole museum.

Since Les Garcons didn’t really feel like shopping, we took a trip through the Palais de Tokyo.  The palace is a favorite haunt of hip Parisians because of its open floor plan and contemporary art installations.  It featured a giant room with 50 clowns in various poses, a chamber of premonitions whose walls and floor moved, and the Leviathan – a massive sea creature suspended in a totally dark room.

We’ve had plenty of train time to practice our French pictionary skills as well.

A bientot!
